In addition to our usual six shows (two weekends– Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), we will be performing two bonus shows for Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. The second of which will be an improvised parody on Sunday, February 18th at 6pm that we are calling “Frankenstein: In Stitches”.
But… why?
“Frankenstein” is an intense story – full of drama and tragedy and exploring several important themes such as responsibility and judging others. But our cast… our cast has got some great chemistry, and they are hilarious to watch during rehearsals. I decided that it would be a real shame if I didn’t let these actors off the leash for a single performance to have some fun and let off a bit of steam.
What can I expect?
Honestly, I have no idea. We won’t be rehearsing this particular version of the show. Whatever detours the cast takes will be wholly-improvised. There won’t be any rules, either – so I can easily imagine this veering wildly into NSFW territory. If you’re easily offended or a minor child, you might want to stay home for this one. Based on what I’ve seen in rehearsals, I think it’s safe to say that there will be tons of goofing around, silly jokes, and mischievous pranks. Probably a lot of fourth-wall breaks, too.
Because this won’t be a serious performance and because I don’t know what is going to happen, we’re only charging $5 a ticket for this one. However, you are able to donate more, if you wish – we’ll be using this show as a fundraiser for various improvement projects we’re working on at the theatre.
Alternatively, you can get in free with the purchase of one of our snazzy Haunters Against Hate “Frankenstein” shirts! Each shirt ordered is worth one free admission.
