In addition to our usual six shows (two weekends– Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), we will be performing two bonus shows for Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. The first of which will be a special Valentine’s Day show on Wednesday, February 14th at 7pm. Although neither dinner nor pie will be available for this particular show, we will have some holiday-themed treats on hand for our guests that evening.
You might be asking yourself why you would want to see a show about an iconic horror villain on a day that is supposed to be about love and romance. But “Frankenstein” is much more than just a horror story. Mary Shelley was considered on the great romantic writers, alongside the likes of John Keats, William Wordsworth, Samuel Coleridge, John Clare, William Blake, and her ill-fated lover, Percy. While “Frankenstein” might not seem like a romantic story on the surface, romantic ideals and themes are at the very bedrock of this classic story. Don’t forget – this isn’t the Boris Karloff version, we’re performing a novel-faithful adaptation.
So if you’re looking for ideas on how to spend a romantic evening with that special someone in your life, consider getting a pair of tickets to see Frankenstein next month. And if you’re not currently in a relationship with someone – that’s okay! Don’t be shy! Come join us anyway. Who knows? You might meet someone new that evening – perhaps someone with a passion for community theatre and classic romantic stories.
