Machickanee Players

It’s a new year! Have you made a resolution to start a new hobby, to get out of the house more, or to get more involved in the community? Whatever your motivation is – think about joining the Machickanee Players.

Even if you’re not an actor and have no interest in ever performing on stage, it takes so much more than just actors to make a theatre operate. I promise – we will be able to find a use for your particular skills and experience, whatever they may be.

Do you have experience owning or operating a business? Do you have administrative, organizational, logistical, or planning skills? Do you have sales experience? Do you have marketing experience? We could use you on our executive board. Elections for new officers will be held at our Annual Membership Meeting next Saturday, January 13^th, at 4pm. (If you’re interested in becoming an officer on the board, check out the job descriptions on our website.)

Are you more of a blue-collar person? Do you have experience in construction, building maintenance, cleaning, or operating A/V equipment? We could surely use your help keeping our facility in a good state of repair. Or perhaps you could help out with set design and construction, or operating our lights and sound booth.

Not a thespian, but skilled in other art forms? Are you a singer, a musician, a dancer, a painter, a sculptor, a decorator, a seamstress, writer, poet, or some other type of artist craftsman? We’ll find opportunities for your talents to shine – whether it’s set design, prop building, costume design, makeup artistry, graphic design… the possibilities are endless.

Are you a young and unsure of what you want in life? We’re always looking to train in the next generation of members. Even if you don’t dream of a future in theatre, we have such a diverse range of things for you to try – you can dabble in a little of this and a little of that. You’re bound to discover new talents and passions in the process!

No matter what your interests or motivations are, consider joining the Machickanee Players family and make the Park Avenue Theatre your second home. Membership is free. You can attend our next board meeting, attend any of our public events, explore our volunteer opportunities, or simply introduce yourself with a short message.
